We’ve made the rounds this summer, my three young boys and I. At any given time we could be found at events and locations near and far: from the Como Zoo and Como Town to Bunker Beach Waterpark, from the local t-ball fields to many of St. Michael and Albertville’s neighborhood parks. We’ve waved at parades, taken in magician shows and splashed in a variety of lakes.
But as summer winds down, there is always that item or two on the summer bucket list that just didn’t get checked off. For us, it was a rainy day activity of bringing our older kids to The Works in Bloomington that just never panned out, and yet another summer has come and gone without spending a day around the lakes area of Minneapolis and taste-testing Sebastian Joe’s ice cream.
With one more official summer weekend before school begins Tuesday, there’s still a glimmer of hope to fit in one last fun outing and end summer with a bang. What event are you still hoping to fit in this year, or wish you could have? Perhaps your suggestion could be the perfect idea for someone else’s summer send-off.
