St. Michael Girl Creates Kids Race Against Cancer
Eight year old Haley Roth put together a Kids Race Against Cancer this past July.
On a sunny July day, Haley Roth and nineteen other kids raced around the in St. Michael. All in the spirit of racing against cancer.
Haley, who is 8 years old and in the 3rd grade at , had come up with the idea last spring.
"Her youth group at church asked the kids to do some act of service. Some kids did things like helping a sibling but Haley was adamant she wanted to put together a race," her mom Laura said.

Laura had recently run in a race to raise money for cancer research and the idea was fresh on Haley's mind. She asked her parents repeatedly and said, "I want to raise money for cancer, I want kids to race."
Finally, her parents said yes.

On July 27, twenty kids raced and together raised $220 that was donated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, which is the only cancer research hospital devoted just to children.
Haley hopes to make the event an annual event.
