A Week for Kids, Parents in St. Michael, Albertville

As the school year crosses the halfway point, conferences and activities heat up an icy January.

After enjoying an almost “balmy” weekend in the Twin Cities, Mother Nature’s set to send us back into the freezer this week, but more on that later this week.

You can avoid the winter “blahs” with some cool activities this week.

Parent/Teacher Conferences at the high school

So this isn’t as cool for the kids (maybe for some), but we’ve reached the halfway point of the second trimester, which means we’re halfway through the school year.

STMA High School will be hosting parent/teacher conferences Thursday after school. Check your child’s calendar or with a guidance office member to find out when/where if you’re not privy to that information today. Conferences wrap up at 8 p.m.

Financial Aid Night at the High School

Child looking to attend college or a university next year? All juniors and seniors are invited to the St. Michael-Albertville High Performing Arts Center tonight (Monday) at 7 p.m. for Financial Aid Information night. Representatives from the high school administration and the guidance office will be on hand to assist parents and students with applications for financial aid, which are almost as difficult as those tax forms you’ll be filling out later this month.

Moms and Daughters’ Sleepover

Come spend an evening of "Girls Just Wanta Have Fun!" at the Mother/Daughter Sleepover, set for 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at the St. Michael City Center. Thanks to the FYCC, you will spend 1:1 time with your daughter(s) and also share laughs and fun with other mothers and daughters. There will be nail fun, hair fun, crafts, a Pajama Parade and much more. Bring your sleeping bags, matress or just come for the fun and go home and sleep in your own bed. Register at www.fycconline.com today! Questions call Sandy at 763-416-7912. Grades K - 8th welcome!
