‘German Fest’ October 12 at St. Michael City Center

Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming “German Fest”  5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive NE, St. Michael.  

This evening includes a German buffet dinner, live “oompah” music by the “Mellow Nights,” polka dancing, cold beer, prize drawings and more. The event is hosted by the St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club.

Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $15 ages 12 and under if purchased by Oct. 5, 2013.

Tickets are on sale for the 2013 event at Coborn’s Albertville, St. Michael FYCC, Crow River Senior Center and Verizon Wireless in St. Michael. Limited tickets will be available at the door for $30 per adult; $15 per child ages 12 and younger; advanced ticket purchase is encouraged.  

Admission includes dinner and music. Beer and prize tickets will be sold separately. All proceeds will benefit the St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club and other community programs.

The event will open with a social hour from 5-6 p.m. The Mellow Nights performance, sponsored by Jet Edge, Inc., is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. The German buffet dinner, catered by Dehmer’s, will be served beginning at 6 p.m.  The dinner includes roast pork, bierstube sausages, sauerkraut, German potato salad, rolls, German chocolate cake, apple pie and coffee. A cash bar will be open from 5-9 p.m. Other activities include a bonfire, games, and German-themed prize drawings. One attendee will go home with a $100 Dehmer’s gift card door prize.

During German Fest, attendees will have the opportunity to nominate this year’s Holiday Cheermeister. The Cheermeister will have the privilege of lighting St. Michael’s Holiday Tree. The Rotary Club also will be taking orders for poinsettias that can be picked up at the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration, 6-8 p.m., Dec. 3 at St. Michael City Center.  Poinsettia proceeds will benefit STMA Rotary and other community programs.
