Foxtailers Snowmobile Club Kick Off Season in St. Michael with Perfect Timing

Also, Santa is popping up everywhere. Pack up the minivan and grab your wish list and get that traditional photo of the kids with the big guy this weekend.

After a couple of years of waiting for snow so they could break out the sleds, the Foxtailers Snowmobile Club, which serves riders from St. Michael, Albertville and beyond, is set to party like it's 2010 again.

If you remember, that's the year we kicked off winter with about 14 inches of snow in early December instead of just six, like this year.

The Foxtailers are hosting their annual kickoff celebration and membership drive Saturday in St. Michael at the Liberty Restaurant and Bar/St. Michael American Legion. Action begins at 8 p.m., and the night will include live music and plenty of door prizes.

The club meets again Monday, Dec. 9 at the Legion for a ride and some informative sessions.

Foxtailers are responsible for many of the trails in and around the northwest corner of Wright County. They groom trails, build relationships with landowners and provide local riders a group to ride with. Check them out online for more information.

Santa's Everywhere You Look

Also this weekend, Santa Claus is popping up all over for visits in St. Michael and Albertville.

First, he's up at the St. Michael Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This annual tradition allows you to get a minute with the big guy himself - but only if you bring a canned donation for the Hanover Food Shelf.

He's also going to pop up at the Liberty Restaurant and Bar Saturday during the day from 9 a.m. to 1. There will be storytime, Mrs. Claus will be on hand  and kids can grab cookies and a beverage. Lunch specials will be on tap for the adults as well.

He's also going to swing into Kremer Toy and Hobby (why not?!) at noon, Saturday, Dec. 7. More information on that can be found here.

Then, on Sunday, Dec. 8, he's up at Kaleidoscope Elementary School in Otsego around the noon hour.
