More than 155 Breeds in Dog Show and 'From Morocco to the Moon': Regional Weekender

Three things to do in the Twin Cities area include an ESPN boxing event at Target Center.

Tickets still are available for ESPN Friday Night Fight at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the Target Center. There will be a 12-round main event between Argenis Mendez (21-2-1, 11 KOs) and Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy (19-0, 12 KOs). Ticket prices range from $35 to $250. The event is organized by Iron Mike Productions, owned by Iron Mike Tyson; Seconds Out Promotions; and Warriors Boxing. The Target Center is located at 600 First Avenue North, Minneapolis.

Free First Saturdays at Walker Art Center

“From Morocco to the Moon” is the subject of this month’s Free First Saturdays at the Walker Art Center. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1750 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis. Children can take part in art projects, listen to North African music by Amwaaj and take part in a theater workshop. A list of activities is on the Walker Art Center website.

Land O’Lakes Kennel Club Dog Show

The Saint Paul RiverCentre is hosting the Land O’Lakes Kennel Club Dog Show on Friday, Jan. 3; Saturday, Jan. 4; and Sunday, Jan. 5. “Obedience and Rally competitions will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” according to the RiverCentre website. More than 55 breeds of dogs will compete for the honor of "Best in Show." Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $4.50 for children ages 4 to 12. Children age 3 and under were admitted for free. You can buy a family four pack (two adult and two children tickets) for $20. The RiverCentre is located at 175 West Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul.
