Information provided by Three Rivers Park District. Paddle the Crow River from Lake Rebecca Park Reserve to Hanover. Join the Three Rivers Park District 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve, Rockford, and go down small rapids chains and learn some of the cultural and natural history of the area while watching the wildlife inhabiting the area. Prior kayaking experience is required. Equipment and shuttle are included. Cost is $60 and reservations are required. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number #223512-00. STMA had 10 wrestlers qualify for the NYWA Individual State Tournament this year.
Information provided by the STMA wrestling youth wrestling club. The STMA K-6th grade youth wrestling team recently participated in both the team and individual state tournaments in Rochester, MN. After qualifying for the Team State Tournament at a Region Qualifier in Waconia, the STMA youth wrestling team headed south to compete against the best the state had to offer. In their 5 dual meets at state, their results were as follows: First round - lost 38-39 vs. Minneota (second seeded team in the tournament) Second round - lost on a tie-breaker 35-35 to Sauk Rapids Third round - won 41-29 vs. Faribault Third round - lost 36-40 to Waseca Fifth round - won 38-33 vs. Brainerd/Pillager. The state dropped two spots in the League of American Bicyclists’ annual rankings.

Minnesota is still among the top states in “bike friendliness,” but its ranking fell a couple notches in 2013, according to the League of American Bicyclists. The state was ranked fourth this year, down from second in 2012. It ranked high in legislation and enforcement, policies and programs and education and encouragement. But it was middle of the pack in infrastructure and funding and lower tier in evaluation and planning.
