When a 12-year-old Buffalo boy told his school principal that his mother was using drugs, he brought along a ziptop bag of crystal meth to prove it, according to a criminal complaint filed at the Wright County District Court this week. His mother, Sabina Marie Coolen, 32, of Buffalo, was subsequently arrested last week on Monday on the charge of allegedly storing drug paraphernalia accessible to children. According to the criminal complaint, she stored paraphernalia in a safe at home, and her son knew where the keys were. The boy told his principal he found the bag of meth in a cigarette box at home. Police say a bullet that fired through an Otsego woman's living room Sunday shot through the wall just inches from where she was sitting. Police allege that her neighbor, Devin Charles Petersen, 45, recklessly shot the gun from his house while he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to a criminal complaint filed this week at the Wright County District Court. Petersen, who is a convicted felon, was arrested Sunday and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, false information to police and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Friday the 13th, known in folklore as a day for bad luck, was particularly unlucky for a Fargo, N.D., man who now finds himself facing multiple drug charges in Wright County. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Drug Enrforcement Agency, Fargo Police Department and Wright County Sheriff's Office teamed up to take down a 5o-year-old Brian Jerome Schlenker Friday, May 13 as he attempted to purchase cocaine in the parking lot of the Albertville Premium Outlets, according to documents released by Wright County District Court last week. A man recently held in Sherburne County on various drug charges has been arrested and charged with arson in the Stans Storage fire.
The man the Wright County Sheriff's Department believes is responsible for the March fire at Stan's Storage in Albertville has finally been arrested and charged with first degree arson. Thomas Rober Valentine, 34, Otsego, was suspected of the crime, and was being held in Sherburne County on various drug charges. He made his first appearance in Wright County District Court on the alleged arson yesterday. Wright County deputies formally arrested Valentine on May 3, and he was formally charged in Wright County District Court. A 21-year-old St. Michael man was stopped in north Minneapolis for crossing against a light. In the end, he faced two drug-related counts.
Minneapolis Police stopped a St. Michael man Friday, April 8 when he crossed the interseection of Central Avenue and 20th Avenue Northeast in Minneapolis illegally. Minutes later, Ryan D. Jacobson had been arrested on two drug-related charges after officers found .5 gram of cocaine in Jacobson's wallet. According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County, two Minneapolis officers approached Jacobson Friday night after he was seen jaywalking. Asked to show identification, Jacobson produced a driver's license that was not his, but that of a "D.J.S." Upon seeing this, Jacobson offered to get his actual license.
