Elementary Essays: Reading Races at St. Michael Elementary School

Students created fun initiatives for their reading program.

  St. Michael Elementary School fourth-graders Ava Windel and Lauren Welle submitted an essay to St. Michael Patch about their school's reading initiatives this school year. The essay explains the various reading competitions each grade is involved in, and what students find helpful about them: Reading in our School By: Ava Windel and Lauren Welle We interviewed a boy and a girl from first, second and third grade to see what they think of our reading programs at St. Michael Elementary. Our principal Sheila Bichler purchased a bike for each grade level. Every student will have a chance to win the bike for their grade level. If they read at least 300 minutes they will get 1 ticket for the drawing, but if they read 600 or more they will …

Elementary Essays: St. Michael Elementary Students Roll Out Fourth-Grade Concert

Fourth graders submitted an essay to St. Michael Patch on their concert experience.

  St. Michael Elementary School students kicked off their concert with songs ranging from country to holiday at this year's fourth-grade concert. Students from the school submitted an essay to St. Michael Patch on their musical performance: The St. Michael Elementary 4th Grade music concert By: Derek Z., Hayden H., and Caden K. The concert was held on Thursday November 15th at the Middle School West auditorium at 6:00 pm for students in Mr. Ingebritson's, Ms. Zastrow's and Mr.Hinzmann's classes. The 7:00 pm show was for classes of Mrs. Tauber's, Mr. Smith's and Mrs. Krupke's. The fourth graders sang nine songs: On The Radio, Rock and Roll is Here to Stay, Day oh, Country Roads, Dynamite, Cotton Eye Joe, Song of Peace, Footloose and Jingle …

It was sych a great concert. We attended the 6 o'clock, it was really a joy to watch the kids and their wonderful music talents. Loved the use of xylophones... Obviously the music teacher is doing an outstanding job, thank you very much:0) My daughter sang a solo and it was a very proud moment for the family and for her!   more ›
