St. Michael Resident Locked Out of Workplace at Target Headquarters Building

Reports of a possible shooting — with no evidence yet — put Target headquarters buildings on lockdown this afternoon. An employee from St. Michael was at another building for a meeting.

UPDATE - 1:35 p.m.: Police have given the "all clear" signal, and employees who were outside are being let back into the building.  Word from spokespeople (Minneapolis Police and Target, both) stated the popping noise "may have come from ductwork" or construction.  * * *  A Target employee from  St. Michael, who works at Target headquarters in downtown Minneapolis, said her building is on lockdown because of reports of a possible shooter Friday afternoon. She is on the scene and shared a photo with St. Michael Patch from a downtown building of the scene, where there are "cop cars everywhere." The employee told St. Michael Patch they're expecting an "all clear" soon, and they're hoping the sound was something in the building that just "…
