A jury in Willmar heard a third day of testimony Monday in the trial of Tim Huber, charged in the 2011 shooting death of Tim Larson of Albertville.
Photographic evidence and testimony from officials at the Tim Huber trial in Willmar gave the jury information Monday about Albertville resident Tim Larson and how he died on Oct. 8, 2011. They also learned more about Huber, who prosecutors claim played a role in killing Larson, a crime for which Huber's father Delbert is serving a 30-year prison sentence. The widow of Tim Larson of Albertville was the first witness in the murder trial of Tim Huber, according to news reports.
Testimony in the trial of Tim Huber, charged in the alleged 2011 murder of Tim Larson of Albertville, began Thursday with Larson's widow Debra on the witness stand. According to WJON: In opening statements at the Timothy Huber murder trial in Willmar this (Thursday) morning, defense attorney Carter Greiner portrayed the defendant as a feeble-minded, physically abused son who followed the orders of his father, Delbert Huber, out of concern for his own safety. ... Eleven witnesses took the stand Friday in a Kandiyohi County court hearing ahead of the scheduled April 22, 2013 trial of Timothy Huber, who prosecutors accuse of killing Tim Larson of Albertville in 2011. KWLM reported: An all-day hearing is taking place at the Kandiyohi County Courthouse in Willmar today for 47-year-old Timothy Huber of rural Paynesville. The 82-year-old man who shot TImothy Larson with a rifle was given the maximum sentence by a Kandiyohi County Court judge.

Minnesota's Sixth District Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R) introduced legislation this week that aims to rename the Cold Spring Post Office after recently slain police officer Tom Decker. Under the proposal, the building would be renamed "Officer Tommy Decker Memorial Post Office," Bachmann said when she took to the house floor Tuesday. According to Minnesota Public Radio, the legislation was co-authored by every other member of Minnesota's U.S. House delegation. Decker was shot in the line of duty outside a Cold Spring bar Nov. 29 as he conducted a welfare check. Timothy Huber, the 46-year-old son of Delbert Huber, appears to be ready to head to court early next year in the case accusing him of being an accomplice to the murder of St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West teacher Timothy Larson in 2011. According to the West Central Tribune, a hearing for the younger Huber was postponed yesterday when Judge Donald M. Spilseth was not available for an afternoon hearing. The pre-trial hearing will be set for Jan. 15, 2013. A wrongful death suit against both men, filed by the family of 43-year-old Timothy Larson, is also pending in Wright County. Mary Johnson now lives next door to Oshea Israel, who killed her son, and is like a second mom to him.
Mary Johnson of Minneapolis went on a journey of forgiveness that brought her to see her son's killer as a fellow human. Today, they are next-door neighbors, and she considers him a son, and she, his "spiritual mother." Johnson and Oshea Israel shared their story at Westbridge Community Church's services Sunday morning at St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West. Israel shot and killed Johnson's only son, Laramiun Byrd, 20, in 1993. Israel, who was 16 at the time of the crime, was tried as an adult and sentenced to 25-and-a-half years in prison in Stillwater.
