The wine bar's back room has the feel of a California wine tasting room, according to the Star News.
Rogers resident Phil Lutgen has opened a new wine bar in Otsego, joining other recent additions, the Star News reports: Pour Wine Bar & Bistro opened Monday, March 18, in the former Bob’s Produce. Good news for that corner of Otsego, which during the past year has seen the opening of Boondox Bar & Grille and the relocation of Bright Eyes Vision Clinic from across the street to the other end of the Bob’s Produce building. ... Pour Wine Bar & Bistro has a different feel than a bar and grill. There are no TV sets. The ceilings aren’t lofted. Hugs came before hockey when Bill Scherling made a surprise appearance at St. Cloud's Municipal Athletic Complex, the newspaper reported.
The St. Cloud Times recently told the story of Otsego resident Bill Scherling's return from Kuwait, where he has been serving as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves. Scherling surprised his daughters Anna, 10, and Sami, 12, as Anna was about to take the ice with her Rogers hockey team, the Times reported: “It was really surprising. I’m really glad,” Anna Scherling said. “I was really shocked and then I went and gave him hug,” added Sami Scherling. Bill Scherling, who lives in Otsego with his family and has served in the military for more than two decades, is a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves . Twenty-one years of service resulted in three separate deployments – most recently to Kuwait, but also to Afghanistan and Bosnia. …

The woman was a former employee of the United States Post Office, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
A 52-year-old Otsego woman was charged recently with one count of misappropriation of postal funds. A federal indictment March 27 charges former United States Postal Employee Kathleen M. Warner with allegedly taking approximately $10,365.57 from the Brooklyn Park Post Office, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. From approximately February 2010 to August 2012, the indictment alleges Warner took from her cash drawer, removed stamps and other merchandise without paying for them. USPS-Office of Inspector General investigated the case.

Updated 5:08 p.m. March 22, 2013 - As of 5 p.m., Wright Hennepin reported the outage to be resolved. No additional details were provided regarding the nature of the outage. 3:45 p.m. March 22, 2013 - Approximately 294 Wright Hennepin customers in the Otsego are without power the afternoon of Friday, March 22. Power was estimated to be restored by about 5 p.m., according to a Wright Hennepin representative. No cause been determined for the outage. Supply continues to lag in St. Michael as the housing market ticks upward. Average home prices are now well above their low in 2009.
For the week of February 28 - March 7th, there were 256 homes listed on the market in the St. Michael, Albertville, Rogers, and Otsego areas. 75 of those homes are listed as "distressed", meaning that they are either in foreclosure, bank owned, or potential short sales. The remaining homes are either traditional sales or their distressed status has not been disclosed. Of 248 homes on the market, 34 went pending with an average list price of $165,983. The highest listed pending homes were $259,900 (Rogers) and $250,000 (St. Michael) while the lowest was $57,900 (St. Michael). Theft and DWI arrests in Albertville and St. Michael also kept Wright County Sheriff's deputies busy this week.
Two Otsego men were arrested last week after a search warrant uncovered a marijuana grow operation in their garage and a large amount of heroin in the home. Wright County Sheriff's Office assisted the Anoka-Hennepin Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force in the Jan. 16 search of the home of Steven Nelson Sandberg, 22, and Brian John Hibbard, 21, in Otsego. Sandberg was charged with first-degree sale of heroin, second-degree possession of heroin, and fifth-degree sale of marijuana. Hibbard was charged with fifth-degree sale and possession of marijuana, according to criminal complaints filed by Wright County Attorney's Office.
