UPDATED: Former Employee Allegedly Robs $5 Pizza store in St. Michael
The suspect allegedly used a key to get in during non-business hours, stole money, and locked the door as he or she left.
A suspect investigators believe to be a former employee of $5 Pizza in St. Michael broke into the closed store using a key to steal money Saturday night, and locked the door on their way out. "We don't know yet (who it was) — it was someone who had keys to the place," said pizza cook Josh Wade. "We have had the locks changed, because sometimes when people quit, they don't give their keys back." He said the Wright County Sheriff's Department will look through the security tapes today for an investigation. The store, located at 921 Central Ave E, was closed for about half an hour until the theft took place. Wade said the store and police have not confirmed how much was stolen.
