SOAR Auditions in Albertville This Weekend to Cast for Jungle Book Production

SOAR Arts is putting on their first Academy production and calling all kids ages five to 18 to participate in The Jungle Book.

  SOAR Arts, the newest community arts and theatre organization, has come up with another opportunity for kids to participate in theater. SOAR Academy kicks off next week after auditions take place this weekend at Albertville City Hall. Children ages five to 18 are invited to audition Saturday or Sunday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. as the SOAR Arts staff puts together a cast for their Jungle Book production. The cost is $75 with a limited amount of scholarships available in addition to sibling discounts. Practices will take place Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at etiher St. Michael City Center or Albertville City Hall. The Academy is a brand new venture for SOAR. Last Chance to See SOAR's Willy Wonka Production

Their are four performances left of SOAR's inaugural production.

Willy Wonka the Musical, produced by SOAR [St. Michael, Otsego, Albertville, Rogers] Regional Arts continues this week with their final four shows. The final four productions take place Thursday through Sunday with tickets available both online and at Marketplace.  The production takes audiences on a fantasy ride into the land of pure imagination. The show opened last Friday and audience members had good things to say. “The opening song with Wonka was worth the price of admission alone," said Noel Paukert and another local resident, Rose Thunder said, "I went to the show last night and loved it!" One Week Until Showtime for SOAR's First Production

Willy Wonka the Musical begins on Friday July 27 at the St. Michael-Albertville Performing Arts Center.

SOAR Regional Arts representing St. Michael, Otsego, Albertville, and Rogers and will soon present its inaugural community production, Willy Wonka the Musical. “We recognize that there are opportunities for youth in the area, but nothing that the entire community can participate in,” said St. Michael dad, Terrell Beaudry, Board President and producer. “We want to provide a quality experience for everyone—those involved in the production and audience members alike.” The cast ages range from 7 to adult.  Noah Gilbertson leads the cast in the role of Charlie and Dr. Mary Cutler is the director. St. Michael Couple Starts Community Theater Program

The nonprofit, community-run organization SOAR just recently launched and will soon be casting for this summer's production of Willy Wonka.

St. Michael-Albertville may seem to offer a surplus of activities and events for youth and families in the community, but when St. Michael couple Terry and Ellen Beaudry noticed the lack of community theater, they didn't sit back and wait for it, or worse, complain. They took matters into their own hands and decided to start their own organization. They started the organization SOAR Arts [St. Michael, Otsego, Albertville and Rogers]. With hopes of one day being a regional art center, the group has hit the ground running this spring with plans to bring a full community production to stage in July.
