Suspicious Person Alert in the Preserve Neighborhood: No. 5 Top Story of 2012

In our No. 5 story of the year, Wright County confirmed that they received a call regarding a suspicious person in the Preserve neighborhood.

Mid-afternoon Wright County Sheriffs Office received a call that a man yelled out to a young boy jumping on a trampoline in a home off of Oakwood Parkway. According to the boy's mother (who asked not to be identified in order to protect her son's identity), the man said, "Come here little boy." STORIES OF THE YEAR: Target Truck Loses Control, Slides into Pond off I-94 Near Albertville: No. 7 Top Story of 2012

A semi truck pulling a Target trailer left the road Friday morning about five miles west of Albertville and sank into an icy pond.

It was published Jan. 6, 2012. --------- Friday morning's commute was brought to a screeching halt around 6:15 a.m. when a semi driver and his rig left the road, crashed through a series of fences and sank through an icy pond. The crash, which happened near mile marker 197 on Interstate 94, according to the Minnesota Highway Patrol, started in the eastbound lane. But driver John Netiffee of Anoka was able to avoid the westbound lanes of traffic and skidded his rig across several hundred yards of ice before it sank into the freezing water.
