St. Michael-Albertville Teachers See Small Increases With New Accord
Teachers in the St. Michael-Albertville School District will receive a slight wage increase under the new contract agreement reached last month.
Education Minnesota of St. Michael-Albertville and the STMA school district have reached agreement on a two-year contract following a Feb. 7 bargaining session with a mediator from the Bureau of Mediation Services, and another bargaining session held Feb. 16, which did not involve a mediator. The ratification process was completed March 5 by the STMA School Board, following the teacher group ratifying the agreement during the previous week. The agreement calls for a half-percent cost of living increase for the 2011-12 school year and a .75 percent increase the second year. MIke It would be important in an article like this to fully disclose what teachers would receive in the form of increases for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years. COLA's are a small part of the salary increase for almost all STMA teachers in this contract.
