National Weather Service Issues Tornado Watch for Hennepin, Wright County

The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Following a morning of thunderstorms and hail in areas of the Twin Cities, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Hennepin and Wright County around 1:20 p.m. Sunday, May 19. The tornado wath is in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday. The counties are also under a hazardous weather outlook, according to the Twin Cities National Weather Service. Thunderstorms with possible heavy rain are forecast throughout the night with the potential for high winds and hail.  The Twin Cities National Weather Service wrote: THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 105 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 70 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF REDWOOD FALLS MINNESOTA TO 25 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF WATERLOO IOWA. Arrests in Albertville Burglaries, Fleeing Police: Wright County Arrest Report

There was also an arrest for a a parole violation.

The following incidents were among the arrests in the county made by Wright County deputies May 6-11, 2013. All individuals are charged but are innocent until proven guilty in Wright County District Court. May 6 May 7 May 8 May 9 May 10 May 11 There were 23 property damage accidents, four personal injury accidents, one hit and run accidents and three car deer accidents. There were 11 arrests for DWI, two underage Consumption arrest, one school bus stop arm violations and 41 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations reported this week.

Seems a lot of burglaries in Albertville are being committed by non-residents, in other words, the dregs of society are travelling to Albertville to commit crimes. My girlfiend's mother and her three friends drowned on the Crow River in 1980 or '81. They were canoeing and went over the rapids near Rogers/Corcoran. All 4 drowned. We love to canoe, but I am forever "spooked" by this river and can't go near it. Be careful.   more ›

April 29 A 33-year-old Rogers man was arrested in Sherburne County on Wright County warrants for possession of burglary tools and theft. A 20-year-old Buffalo man was arrested in Buffalo on a Wright County warrant for theft. Sheriff: During the past several years, rural homeowners have experienced unsolicited sales of an asphalt product for application to gravel surfaces on their property.

The following was submitted by the Wright County Sheriff's Office. With the improvement in the weather, Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty warns residents of unwanted pests. During the past several years, rural homeowners have experienced unsolicited sales of an asphalt product for application to gravel surfaces on their property. Many of these salesmen are from southern states and claim they are working in the area and have extra material left over. They supply a business card with an 800 number and a business name. They do not provide a written estimate. Once the homeowner agrees to have the work done, a crew soon appears with dumptrucks and a paver. Winter Storm Warning Issued for Wright County

The National Weather Service issued the warning, effective 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 until 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11.

Updated 7 a.m. April 10 - The latest forecast from the National Weather Service has the winter storm warning in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11 with snowfall totals of eight to 12 inches possible. The heaviest snow is expected late Wednesday through early Thursday morning. April 9 - The Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service on Tuesday declared a winter storm warning for much of west central and central Minnesota, including Wright and Hennepin counties.
