Albertville Woman Gets Year in Prison For Thefts From Hassan Bank

Kelly Jo Bistodeau, 51, of Albertville, was sentenced to 366 days in prison for stealing cash out of the automated teller at the First National Bank of Elk River building in Hassan, where she worked.

A Hennepin County Judge has sentenced an Albertville woman to a year in prison after she swindled her employer out of more than a quarter of a million dollars last year.  Kelly Jo Bistodeau, 51, will serve one year, one day in prison after she was convicted of theft by swindle late last month.  The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office issued a news release in June stating the thefts occurred at the First National Bank of Elk River in Hassan. “Financial crimes are very complex investigations with receipts, ledgers, statements, and other financial records that detectives need to examine,” said Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek. Albertville Woman Arrested, Accused of Theft By Swindle

According to Hennepin County documents, the woman, a bank employee, stole more than a quarter of a million dollars over five years.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a former bank teller who is accused of stealing money from automated teller machines (ATM) at the Hassan bank where she worked. The sheriff's office issued a news release Wednesday stating the thefts occurred at the First National Bank of Elk River in Hassan.  As a result of the Sheriff’s Office investigation, 51-year-old Kelly Jo Bistodeau of Albertville has been formally charged by the Hennepin County Attorney with felony Theft by Swindle. “Financial crimes are very complex investigations with receipts, ledgers, statements, and other financial records that detectives need to examine,” said Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek. UPDATE: Name Released of Man Killed in Fire Near St. Michael

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has released the name of the 19-year-old man killed in a May 21 fire in Hassan Township.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the 19-year-old man killed in a Hassan Township fire as Kyle Jon Adams.  The examination shows Kyle Adams died of thermal injuries and smoke inhalation in the fire that gutted his family's home in the 24000 block of 141st Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, May 21.  Adams' mother escaped the fire with injuries. Pamela Ann Adams, 46, suffered third-degree burns and lacerations, but has been moved to satisfactory condition and is recovering at Hennepin County Medical Center.  Kyle was the only other resident of the house that was home at the time of the fire at 24355 141st Avenue Northeast. UPDATE: Burn Victim in Hassan Township Fire Recovering at HCMC

The name of the 19-year-old man killed in the blaze has not been released.

Authorities from Hennepin County Medical Center said the 46-year-old burn victim who suffered injuries in Saturday's house fire in Hassan Township is doing well, but will need time to heal.  The woman, identified as Pamela Ann Adams, 46, suffered third-degree burns and lacerations, but has been moved to satisfactory condition. She was injured when a massive fire broke out at the home around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, May 21, about the same time a severe thunderstorm and tornado activity was moving through the area.  A 19-year-old man, the only other resident of the house that was home at the time, was killed in the fire at at 24355 141st Avenue Northeast.
