Earth Begins to Move at Guardian Angels Site in Albertville

An official groundbreaking is set for Wednesday, but the construction is already moving ahead at the corner of Kassel and Jason avenues.

Have you heard this one?

"Engel Haus Senior Community has been paper for so long, the guy who originally drew it up is now waiting for his room!"

Well, it hasn't been that long, but it has taken quite some time to move the dream of the latest Guardian Angels Senior Community from plans to reality, and the process became much more "real" last week as dirt began to move on the multi-million-dollar project.

The development includes a 60-unit elderly housing project that will host 14 units of memory care, with the balance of the units divided between independent living units and assisted living units.

A groundbreaking (officially) is set for Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the construction site, 5101 Kassel Ave. NE, which is just off Jason Avenue (County Road 18) in Albertville. A reception will follow at Cedar Creek Golf Course.

Kraus Anderson is serving as the contractor for the job. Pope Architects provided the drawings.

Look for more on this following Wednesday's ceremonies.
