Elk River Man Dies in Silver Creek Township Motorcycle Accident
Wright County Sheriff's Office: "Neither subject was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash."
A 52-year-old Elk River man has died following an accident in Silver Creek Township Saturday, Aug. 17, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 6:11 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office was notified of a one vehicle accident on Wright County Road 123 and Duffield Avenue NW in Silver Creek Township.
“The initial investigation indicates that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, being driven by Randal Alan Stevens, 52, of Elk River was eastbound on County Road 123 when it failed to negotiate a curve in the road and went off the road into the ditch, ejecting the driver and a passenger,” according to a release from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Stevens was brought to Allina Hospital in Buffalo, later transferred to Memorial Hospital where he died, according to the release.
A 53-year-old female passenger was brought to St Cloud Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.

“Neither subject was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash,” according to a release from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
