Escaped Wright County Convict Found in Buffalo, Back in Prison

After eluding the Wright County Deputies attempting to detain him, Daniel Rossberg is now back in prison.

A convicted Wright County man who attempted the Wright County Sheriff's Deputies attempting to detain him for a parole violation last week was found in Buffalo over the weekend and taken into custody.

Police discovered Daniel J. Rossberg at the Holiday Station in Buffalo early Saturday, Oct. 26, according to a report by the Monticello Times website. Editor Tim Hennagir reports Rossberg struggled with deputies before he was finally taken into custody.

According to the Minnesota Department of Corrections website, Rossberg, a convicted sex offender, is being held in Washington County. His release date, which was set for December of this year, has now been moved to 2023.

Rossberg, who was staying at a supervised house in Monticello Township (about 8 miles west of Albertville) when he fled deputies, is a Level III offender, according to the Minnesota Department of Corrections website. That means he is the most likely to re-offend.
