St. Michael, Albertville Runners Lace Up for Twin Cities Marathon
Dozens of runners from our neck of the woods braved the "moisture" and cool air to hit the streets of Minneapolis and St. Paul for this year's races.
More than 20 St. Michael and Albertville residents laced them up for a fall day of running the streets of Minneapolis and St. Paul as the 2013 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon was held last weekend.
Another 35 took off on the 10-mile run.
Overall, 8,849 runners finished the 26.2 mile 2013 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Sunday, Oct. 6 – including one Mendota Heights man.

Arizona resident Nick Arciniaga won the 2013 Twin Cities Marathonmen’s race with a time of 2:13:11, according to a StarTribune.com report. Former Minnesota resident Annie Bersagel won the woman’s title with a time of 2:30:52.
The race began near Mall of America Field in Minneapolis and finished at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.

The average time of the marathon was 4 hours, 17 minutes and 36 seconds. Conditions were cool, cloudy with a mist and slight rain.
